When we share a meal, we share so much more.
Breaking Bread uses food to create connections and community across backgrounds and beliefs. Around the table, discussion becomes more human, difference becomes less hostile, and strangers become neighbors. It’s a simple idea with thousands of years of history to show for it.
Why Break Bread?
Since 10,000 BCE, people have built bridges over shared meals. Breaking Bread uses food diplomacy and facilitated dinner dialogues to bring people together. Founded at Rollins College in 2023, an academic question became a community. One table became many. We don’t all have to agree by dessert. We just have to be willing to sit together at the table.
